Mediated memory

year: 2023
dimensions: approx. 30/20/13 cm – 21 objects
technique: a series of objects made of: bronze, lapis lazuli, labradorite, calcite, amethyst, coral, garnet, chalcedony, onyx, hair, steel; own technique
description: A series of bronze objects made using the lost wax method. All objects were developed individually and are unique. The 21 objects are naturalistic, transposed directly from the bodies of various people, female hands arranged in gestures suggesting death, immobility, freezing of life or a view from the mortuary. The objects are stylized, perforated, pierced, suspended, tied with wires, and also encrusted with minerals and semi-precious stones, which, through color and texture, suggest the decomposition of tissues, a direct relationship with the earth or archeology. The objects symbolically refer to specific cases of death and murder of women who died violently as a result of the perpetrator's attack.

Implemented with funds from the City of Gdańsk as part of the Cultural Scholarship
